The exhibition

Curated by Renato Corsini and Carolina Zani

The shots of authors such as Tazio Secchiaroli, Giuseppe Palmas and those who were part of the Dufoto agency, with their night chases and stalking in the places of worldliness, return the atmosphere of the Rome of Cinecittà.

From the happy Fellini intuition that made him a protagonist of his own film production, the figure of the “paparazzo” became, in the 60s, an authentic current destined to enter the history of world photography as an exclusively Italian phenomenon.

In contrast to the way of representing the overseas divism that proposed a glossy and celebratory style, the “paparacism” instead sought the curious and scandalistic image, looking for the scoop to be fed to the press.
