Art and Culture
Itinerary

After visiting the Renaissance exhibition in Brescia, which highlights the masterpieces of the masters Moretto,
Savoldo and Romanino, Lake Iseo offers a perfect continuation of the cultural route, enriching the day with natural beauty and additional artistic and historical gems.

Church of Santa Maria della Neve in Pisogne

The Church of Santa Maria della Neve in Pisogne, built at the end of the 15th century, is an important testimony to Renaissance religious architecture. The sober and elegant facade conceals a richly decorated interior, with frescoes that give the church considerable artistic value. Among the most important works are Girolamo Romanino’s frescoes, which decorate the church and depict biblical scenes of great visual and spiritual impact. These frescoes are considered among the artist’s most significant works and give the Church a special importance in the panorama of Renaissance art.

Tadini Academy of Fine Arts in Lovere

A few kilometers from Pisogne, on the shores of Lake Iseo, in Lovere, is an important cultural institution founded in the 19th century by Luigi Tadini. The gallery houses a rich collection of works of art, including paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. Some of these, such as the Madonna and Child, St. George and St. Christopher (Pala Manfron), 1526-1527, will be on view at the exhibition The Renaissance in Brescia, at the Santa Giulia Museum.
