outdoor activities and gastronomic experiences. Here is a proposed itinerary that will guide you through some of the most fascinating places in the province of Brescia, combining art, nature and cuisine.

The Nuns’ Choir (16th century) – Santa Giulia Museum

Decorated with frescoes by Floriano Ferramola and Paul of Caylina the Younger in c. 1520, the choir features religious scenes and figures of saints in a Renaissance style that reflects the elegance of the time.

This part of the monastery, dating from the early 16th century, served as a place of prayer and recollection for the nuns, allowing them to attend religious services without being seen by the public.

The Romanesque Oratory of Santa Maria in Solario (12th century) – Santa Giulia Museum

Built in the 12th century, the oratory had a religious function, hosting celebrations and rituals. It was also used to store the monastery’s treasury, including relics and sacred objects, among them the Lipsanotheque and the Cross of Desiderio.

Ferramola’s frescoes, which adorn the interior, include religious motifs and biblical scenes, demonstrating the artistic transition from Romanesque to Renaissance and enriching the spiritual ambience of the place.

An example of Renaissance architecture with interior decorations of great artistic value. Characterized by a three-aisle interior, sumptuously decorated with about 350 stuccoes and frescoes between late Mannerism and early Baroque. The Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie houses valuable paintings by Pietro Rosa, Alessandro Maganza, Moretto, Francesco Maffei, and Francesco Giugno. On the altar in the back chapel of the left aisle stands the wooden Crucifix from the early 15th century.

Pieve di Sant’Andrea in Iseo
