Peggy e Paolo. A timeless passion
From 31 March 2022 to 28 August 2022
The Brescia Photo Festival stages an unprecedented dialogue between Paolo Tosio and Peggy Guggenheim, in a famous shot by Gianni Berengo Gardin: after more than a century, two collectors entrust to the portrait the memory of their passion.

The exhibition
A one-off exhibition dedicated by Gianni Berengo Gardin to Peggy Guggenheim, photographed in her Venetian home at Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, in the background a sculpture by Calder.
In front of her is the Portrait of Count Paolo Tosio by Luigi Basiletti. Paolo Tosio was an enlightened patron thanks to whose legacy 170 years, in 1851, the city of Brescia inaugurated the first civic gallery of contemporary art in Italy, today the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo.
