The exhibition ARCHIVE IN PROGRESS – Edited and Unedited as part of Testimoni, 7th edition of the Brescia Photo Festival, gives the privilege of observing Francesco Cito’s creative thinking from the inside, offering visitors the extraordinary opportunity to discover its evolution.
True to the theme of this Brescia Photo Festival 2024, from war reportages, mafia and camorra events, to the Palio of Siena and Neapolitan weddings, Francesco Cito demonstrates his ability to tackle social issues with the lucid awareness of being a “witness” to fragments of history.
Headings such as Epoca, l’Europeo, Panorama, l’Espresso, Stern, Die Zet Magazin, Sunday Times Magazine, Paris Match, Figaro and Life or places such as Soviet-occupied Afghanistan in 1980, the Lebanese front in 1983, Palestine, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in 1987, tell us who Francesco Cito is, but are probably not enough to make us imagine his archive, that extraordinary treasure chest of emotions, experiences, encounters and stories told.
