Vittoriale delle italiane
From 25 May 2024 to 30 September 2024
The exhibition
Curated by: Renato Corsini
The Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera, home of Gabriele d’Annunzio, is one of the most visited house museums in the world.
Giordano Bruno Guerri, who presides over it, is the director of a film in which he becomes both interpreter and spectator at the same time: making the Vittoriale available to pay homage to photography in the context of Testimoni, 7th edition of the Brescia Photo Festival, and consolidating the link with the Brescia Musei Foundation, has led to Vittoriale delle Italiane.
Vittoriale delle Italiane, an exhibition to be held in Il Golfo Segreto, a space inaugurated especially for the occasion, intends to combine female photography with the myth of the Vate.
Maria Vittoria Backhaus, Silvia Camporesi, Ramona Zordini, Mariagrazia Beruffi, Luisa Menazzi Moretti, Giusy Calia, Antonella Monzoni, Caterina Matricardi, Alessandra Chemollo and Patrizia Bonanzinga are the names of the ten talented and established Italian women photographers who have been invited to create a ‘site-specific’ work inside and outside the museum structure in Gardone, with the aim of interpreting the themes encountered with their own style.
